- Try to make your blog have a theme. You don’t have to choose just one, or choose right away. More people will follow you if you’re consistent with your posts.
- Follow people! Don’t be a tumblr snob and only follow a few blogs. Your blog will be better if you follow more people because you’ll have more of a choice on what to reblog.
- Connect with your followers! I can’t emphasize this enough. Everyone likes ♥s and reblogs. If you want your followers to send you asks or talk to you, send them asks or reply to posts.
- Track some tags. If you track tags on tumblr, finding posts that are focused around YOUR interests is so much easier.
- Post often. A lot of people unfollow inactive blogs. Blogging everyday can be difficult, but if you use the queue feature, it’ll help you stagger your posts out for days if you want it to.
- Don’t discriminate. People don’t want to see you attack a group or individual. & please refrain from racist, homophobic, or sexist comments.
- Most importantly: stay true to what you wanna post. There are obviously tags, names, and pictures that will get more likes and reblogs than others. Post things because YOU want to post them… not because you’re concerned about how many notes a post you’re making will get.
